About Betsie

Betsie’s career in finance didn’t begin with spreadsheets or board reports — it began on the retail floor of a busy South African store, where she learned early what responsibility feels like. By nineteen, she was already a credit controller and second‑in‑charge, helping open a new branch and discovering that she had a natural instinct for numbers, systems, and the kind of order that keeps a business running smoothly.
That instinct followed her into her first accounting roles, where she helped build financial systems from the ground up for a new engineering company. It grew stronger over the years, where she restructured creditor processes and rebuilt treasury accounting records — work that demanded precision, resilience, and the ability to untangle complexity with calm determination.

When she and her family immigrated to New Zealand, she carried that same drive with her. Even though her UNISA degree remained unfinished due to the move, she refused to let that stop her. Instead, she rebuilt her career from the ground up in a new country, taking on roles that stretched her skills and deepened her expertise across financial accounting, treasury, payroll, auditing, and management reporting.

Over the years, Betsie started contracting in 2015 and became the person organisations called when they needed someone they could trust — someone who could step in, steady the ship, and bring clarity to complicated financial environments. From senior roles to multi‑entity reporting, and from supporting clients to managing finance functions for charities, schools, and community groups, she built a reputation for reliability, accuracy, and genuine care.

Alongside her professional roles, she has always given back. As a volunteer treasurer for CRDBA and the Fraser Crescent Home and School Association, she has supported community organisations with the same professionalism she brings to corporate work.

Today, Betsie is an Associate Member of CPA Australia and completing both her CPA Certification and her Bachelor of Accountancy through Massey University — a commitment she balances with her ongoing contract work and her passion for continuous learning. With more than twenty years of experience, she has mastered a wide range of accounting systems, from Xero and ApprovalMax to Navision, Great Plains, MYOB, and multiple payroll platforms.

But what truly defines her isn’t just her technical skill. It’s her integrity. Her calm under pressure. Her ability to build trust. Her belief that good financial management isn’t just about numbers — it’s about helping people make confident decisions.

Betsie is the steady hand behind the scenes, the problem‑solver teams rely on, and the kind of finance professional who brings both expertise and heart to every organisation she supports.
